Today’s release includes a variety of bug fixes and quality of life improvements across SteamVR, our OpenXR API, and Steam Link.

We continue to focus on OpenXR as our preferred API for new games and applications. SteamVR’s official OpenXR subforum is here and we’d love to hear your feedback, as well as suggestions for new features.

SteamVR:

  • Fixed a memory leak affecting some users who have a Lighthouse HMD attached to their system, but are using a different HMD, or are streaming to a wireless HMD.
  • Panels dragged by a grab handle now face the user and move more smoothly.
  • Fixed crash that occurred when a remapping file path in an input profile was invalid.
  • Allow Tundra trackers to be bound to left and right wrist roles.
  • Fixed a case where controller simulation could break when starting an application or connecting a new device.
  • Restrict applications from seeing controller/tracker positions while the Steam keyboard is visible.

OpenXR:

  • Implemented XR_EXT_hand_tracking_data_source.
  • Fix bindings for left_wrist and right_wrist in XR_HTCX_vive_tracker_interaction
